A full‑circle quest: Perisic eyes Inter return as PSV stalls
Ivan Perisic, the 37‑year‑old wing‑back, is reportedly urging PSV Eindhoven to release him this summer so he can re‑join Inter Milan, exactly four years after his departure from the San Siro. The move would bring his career full circle at the iconic stadium.
Perisic proved his quality with Croatia at the 2026 World Cup, showing he still has plenty to give and reigniting his appetite for a fresh challenge. His performances on the world stage have reminded clubs of his enduring fitness and experience.
According to Tuttosport and Calciomercato, the veteran hopes to don the Nerazzurri jersey again. Both outlets highlight his long‑standing bond with Inter and his desire to return to the club that shaped his early career.
Perisic first joined Inter in 2015 and stayed until 2019, including a loan spell at Bayern Munich and a brief return before moving on a free transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in July 2022. Those years saw him become a regular contributor in Serie A.
After his stint in England, he featured for Hajduk Split before signing for PSV Eindhoven in 2024. His contract with PSV runs until the end of the current campaign, tying him to the Dutch side for the season.
Should he return to Inter, Perisic would likely serve as understudy to Federico Dimarco on the left wing, while also capable of operating on the right. Inter are currently searching for a replacement for Denzel Dumfries in that position.
Inter made an approach for Perisic in January 2026, but PSV rebuffed the request. The Dutch club appears unwilling to let the veteran leave without securing a suitable deal.
During his first spell at Inter, Perisic amassed 254 competitive appearances, netting 55 goals and delivering 50 assists. Those figures underline his contribution to the Serie A side’s recent campaigns.
