€70 million price tag drives Real Madrid’s Bastoni chase

€70 million is the fee Inter Milan are demanding for centre‑back Alessandro Bastoni, a player Real Madrid are weighing as they also line up the signings of Yan Diomande and Rodri ahead of the new season. The club hopes the addition will address a defensive gap highlighted by manager Jose Mourinho.

Inter Milan have indicated they are willing to sell Bastoni this summer, but have set the price at around €70 million. No official contact has been made yet, according to the report. The demand reflects the defender’s contract, which runs until the summer of 2028, making negotiations complex.

Bastoni, 27, combines youth with experience. He has already helped Inter Milan win a league title and has been a regular in the UEFA Champions League. These attributes make him a certified game‑winner in Real Madrid’s eyes.

Real Madrid are pushing for new recruitments across the park at the earliest. Yan Diomande and Rodri appear set to be the two latest signings. Ibrahima Konate has already arrived to add depth in defence.

Jose Mourinho has marked the centre‑back department in red, noting the lack of a clear starter. The absence of a top‑class defender remains a concern for Los Blancos as the new season approaches.

Diario AS reported earlier today that Real could indeed open the operation to sign a new centre‑back this summer. Bastoni continues to be one of the most valued profiles internally.

Los Blancos are discussing Bastoni as a potential target internally and evaluating if he is the right candidate. A decision and its implications are expected in the coming days.
