€6m fee fuels Parma's goalkeeper hunt for Juventus prodigy
Parma have agreed a €6 million transfer for 21‑year‑old goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara from Juventus, sealing a deal that includes a long‑term contract running to 2031 and a 10 percent sell‑on clause retained by the Turin club. The move follows Daffara's season on loan at Serie B side Avellino, where he featured in 25 matches.
Italian media outlets including Gianluca Di Marzio, Sportitalia, Fabrizio Romano and report the transfer as completed. The agreement secures Daffara's services for Parma on a permanent basis.
Daffara is a product of the Juventus academy and spent the 2025‑26 season on loan at Serie B club Avellino. He never made a senior appearance for Juventus before the move.
In June, the 21‑year‑old earned his first senior Italy call‑up for friendlies against Luxembourg and Greece. Caretaker coach Silvio Baldini led a squad that featured only Gigio Donnarumma as the established goalkeeper, leaving Daffara on the bench.
During his spell at Avellino, Daffara conceded 39 goals across 25 matches. His performances helped the Campania side finish eighth in Serie B.
Parma's €6 million outlay underscores the club's strategy to secure promising domestic talent on long contracts. Juventus' retained 10 percent sell‑on clause reflects a broader trend of top clubs protecting future resale value. The fee aligns with recent Italian transfers where clubs are willing to invest in young keepers to bolster squad depth.
