€20 million bid puts Atalanta in race for Bayer Leverkusen’s Alajbegovic

€20 million is the opening offer Atalanta have prepared for Bayer Leverkusen for 18‑year‑old winger Kerim Alajbegovic, who has already given his approval to move to Bergamo, reports say. The Italian club aims to secure the Bosnia and Herzegovina talent ahead of the summer transfer window.

Reports in Italy note that Alajbegovic has also attracted interest from Milan and Roma, with Alfredo Pedullà confirming that the teenager’s representatives have sign‑off for a move to Bergamo. The player’s approval, confirmed by Atalanta, adds momentum to the negotiations.

The exciting winger scored nine goals in 28 appearances for RB Salzburg in the 2025‑26 season, prompting Bayer Leverkusen to activate their buy‑back clause immediately. His performance has placed him among the most sought‑after prospects in Europe.

Alajbegovic was born in Germany and spent eight years in the academy of 1. FC Köln before joining Bayer Leverkusen’s youth ranks in 2021. The German‑born Bosnian‑Herzegovinian now faces a potential transfer to Italy.

Bayer Leverkusen are expected to listen to offers this summer, and Pedullà Atalanta’s €20 million bid plus bonuses may not be enough to convince the German club. Nevertheless, La Dea have made their intentions clear, according to the source.

Monday’s report adds that Atalanta have already received a ‘yes’ from Alajbegovic and his representatives, signalling a positive step toward finalising the deal. The club now prepares its formal proposal.
