€14 million bid: Hoffenheim chase Danish striker Adam Daghim
The exit of left‑winger Bazoumana Touré has left a clear void on Hoffenheim’s flanks, prompting the Bundesliga side to target Danish attacker Adam Daghim. The 20‑year‑old arrives with a guaranteed €14 million fee on the table, aiming to restore width in the attack.
Daghim’s versatility allows him to operate on either wing, a trait that aligns with head coach Christian Ilzer’s plan to refresh the forward line. His two‑footed approach offers tactical flexibility for Hoffenheim’s attacking set‑up.
Hoffenheim are prepared to pay a guaranteed €14 million for Daghim, with performance‑related bonuses that could raise the total package. The sizeable commitment underscores the club’s urgency to fill the gap left by Touré.
The fee was disclosed by the Bundesliga club in reports compiled by Florian Plettenberg, confirming the official nature of the offer. Plettenberg’s involvement adds credibility to the reported figures.
Salzburg must still grant final internal approval before the 20‑year‑old can depart. Current indications suggest the Austrian side is leaning toward sanctioning the transfer as negotiations enter their final stage, making approval the decisive step.
Earlier in the window Hoffenheim submitted an offer of roughly €9.5 million, which Salzburg rejected. The new guaranteed fee therefore represents an increase of about €4.5 million before bonuses are added, signalling a more aggressive approach.
Initially, Hoffenheim pivoted to Feyenoord winger Leo Sauer after Salzburg turned down the opening bid, even reaching a verbal agreement with the Slovakian international. Sauer ultimately signed with Stuttgart, leaving Hoffenheim to refocus on Daghim.
Daghim spent the 2025/26 season on loan at VfL Wolfsburg, making 30 appearances across all competitions and scoring twice. Despite his contributions, the Wolves were relegated, yet Hoffenheim remain convinced of his potential.
A left‑footed attacker, Daghim primarily operates on the right flank but can also play on the left or through the centre. His physical profile, versatility and ability to attack space make him a potentially useful option for Ilzer’s forward line.
Hoffenheim have already reinforced the right side by signing Daghim’s former Wolfsburg teammate Patrick Wimmer. If Salzburg’s internal approval is secured, Daghim will join the Bundesliga for another opportunity after a challenging year in Wolfsburg, completing Hoffenheim’s response to the flank void.
